VCU’s Slower and Fairer Collaboration
“Gender Neutral Zero- Waste Collection” By Kristina Wise, Kayla Kim, and Kathryn Ackerman
The Slower and Fairer class is VCU’s study abroad program in Oaxaca, Mexico. This class was a collaboration with Yagaa Silkworm Sanctuary. The members of Yagaa collective requested ideas for innovative zero waste designs, specifically menswear.Our group elected to take it a step further and create gender neutral designs to appeal to a larger market.

The Shibori Blue is achieved by dying garment in Añil (indigo) with no mordant.
